Working on the photography stuff (Hannah and Anna)

Hey girl I started this blog so we can keep track of our conversation better...
and all our ideas can be in one spot..

the 5x7, and 8x10's i can print here but anything bigger until i can afford a larger format photo printer will have to be outsourced...

I can also do the cards here or have them printed through a outsource but to start the more i can print here the better...

It would be cool if once we got all this stuff organized and printed I could get into a show somewhere and see how it goes..

I think for all the prints Ill need to find some pretty boxes to put them in to keep them organized and standing up maybe print some tabs that stick out beyond the prints with little version of the images so we can see what they are in the box with out having to dig through them ... ive noticed some other photographer that have thier prints that are just matted and wrapped that the images get messed up when people dig through them..

I love that picture too but its actually a really bad one for print as its very tiny from my web cam... and its grainy for print.. Ill set up my canon one day and do some head shots just for the bio...

Im off this weekend so Ill work on some highlights of things for the Bio ...

I want to give you something for helping with this a percentage ... a flat fee whatever you want to do lets discuss that... a percentage of sales like your my photography manager LOL something... and dont try that im just doing it to be a friend stuff, lets approach this as a business. becuase honestly I can get the images and i can print them up but i need help with all this other stuff organizing and getting things right to be really out there!

Talk to you soon
Anna

Hi Anna,

I have a larger printer, so larger than 8x10 prints are not a problem. : )

I think a show is a great idea! Local art festivals can be fun, but I hear artists complain all the time that they do not make much. However, they might be good for getting a reaction from the public regarding your work, hearing their comments, and seeing what sells, and also for getting ideas for new product lines and prints.

It might be nice to try and get into trade shows because you'll make more money selling in volume. They can be expensive, but perhaps not if 3 or 4 artists are sharing the booth. Usually you sign up for these at least 6 to 8 months in advance, so you have plenty of time to prepare. I'll have to check out the upcoming ones at the Orlando Convention Center.

Once you figure out your base cost for prints, posters, etc. We'll have to put together a wholesale price list, and a portfolio that I can take to store owners etc. to market your work. OK?

I know everything seems a bit scattered right now, but this will come together, take on a life of it's own and evolve.

We can work to make this happen.

hey girlfriend...

lets work towards the art show first... i think the first show should be something we know we can handle...

I definitely want to put a printed portfolio together for galleries and other places.. some i have thought about would be cool were like interior designer shops and doctors offices and dentists restraunts.. some of those places will display your work for free and sell it for you at a percentage...

I need to get the correct size printed they have picky modes for that I think that a photographer portfolio is supposed to be 11x14 prints... they will have to be top quality prints so I may want to have those printed in a lab.. also
I will have to pick 20-40 of my best that is a hard process for me.. LOL the gurus recommend putting things in order either chronological or mood setting order

Luckily my photographs fall into catagories (birds, sunsets, animals, buildings etc... ) so once i get them organized and choose the best i can get that portfolio put together for you.

yeah i know its gonna be scattered but I know it can be done and Im pretty confident that we can make some money from my photography... Ive seen stuff no where near as interesting sell LOL not being arrogant or anything but i have some pretty stuff...

I also found a place that can print bound books of up to 40 pages for 30 bucks a book ... dont know if those would sell but its an option..
lots to do and im so glad i have a partner in crime on this project I can not even tell you how excited i am.. stay on my ass LOL i need that bad LOL

happy valentines girlfriend
love
Anna

Another future project you may want to work with me on and i dont really want to try to do them both at the same time becuase its a big one too but this is something to put into the back of your head...

I have a book almost finished called makeovers for the everyday woman... its to teach normal women how to apply makeup... how to choose makeup.. how to choose colors all in simple terms... with photos to match all the tutorials.. i only have a few more chapters to finish but its something that we could do as a for sale ebook or try to get printed as an actual book.. or something but its a pretty cool concept and i think it would sell..

ok enough of my major projects lol
hugs

This is fun! The make-over book sounds great! It is something I am also very interested in!

I've always thought it might be fun to put something together like the "Poor Woman's Guide to Being Gorgeous!" or something along those lines. I have several recipes for fruit acid peels and scrubs that you can make in your kitchen for pennies and if you go to an expensive spa they charge you and arm and a leg. It's a sin! LOL

Maybe we can include=de them in another chapter? Just a thought. Self publishing can be expensive, but it's also a way to get your work out there. People love books for gifts at Christmas time. It could be a winner! : )

yeah im thinking we could make it int o an ebook for sale no publishing costs that way... its a cool future project we can work on maybe for chirstmas... get it done and out there for chirstmas gifts.. and also something we can sell at art shows etc.. if we did print some copies..

lets make that a project for say june or july to be complete by september to start marketing..

yes definately add recipies I have some too ..

awesome

this is FUN I love it!

E-books, yes! Great idea!

I also think your coffee table book of nature photos would be great!

If you limit it to strictly Florida photos. It could be a "Florida" coffee table book and maybe even offer it for sale in the airport! Florida photos by Anna Art!

Lake Side Hideaway said...

a Florida series of those books might be cool....

Florida zoos
Florida sunsets
Florida wildlife
around Florida (towns buildings etc)
Florida Beaches...

that way its a collection of books with themes people enjoy.. but for the first one i think it would have to be a combination of florida... to have enough pictures...

i joined a website that gives you a download to make the books ... you have to purchase 20 minimum at a time... but they claim to have a good turn around ... and perhaps we could do a pre order to get the money for the first purchase...

My friend did that for his book and sold out the first run... I just have to pick some amazing pictures to add ... he did a limited edition version of the book that was signed and numbered ... sold them at 50 bucks a piece.. I know cause i bought one LOL...

I started an anna-art MYSPACE PAGE we can advertise on... I dont have it all fixed up yet but Ill try to work on that this weekend... I get home at 2 today and I have all weekend off..

Im really excited about all of this ... i feel like it really is gonna happen now.

talk to you later
